Art for West Baden Paint Out at West Baden Springs Hotel, August 2012 Bedford artist Tricia Hillenburg was the IHA "People's Choice Award" winner at the second annual West Baden Paint Out sponsored by Indiana Heritage Arts and The West Baden Springs Hotel. Hillenburg took home the $500 prize after over one hundred people voted at an afternoon reception to celebrate the event. The painting also sold. Twenty IHA artists took part in the paint out which was set on the grounds of the West Baden Springs hotel. All the artists were able to sell commission free at a public sale on the Veranda while invited guests enjoyed a reception in the hotel library provided by the resort. Artists report that sales were strong and plans are in the works for next year's event. IHA which is based in the Brown County Art Gallery, along with the Brown County Art Gallery Foundation has been involved in an ongoing project called "Art for West Baden" Pieces from the Permanent Collections of both organizations hang in the hotel's lobby and library in an effort to educate visitors to the resort about Indiana's rich art history as well as its ongoing legacy of supporting today's Hoosier Masters.
