art gallery victorian tea The Brown County Art Gallery Foundation Victorian Tea

The Brown County Art Gallery Foundation will hold its popular Victorian Tea on Sunday, April 13th at the gallery in Nashville. The 14th annual tea will feature the gallery’s antique tea cup collection and a delicious menu, along with music, door prizes, raffles and a very unique fashion show that is sure to be a hit with bargain hunters. In addition, attendees will have a chance to win a floral painting by one of Nashville’s most noted artists, Sally Bryant Kriner.

A fashion show will be staged through a joint effort by the Nashville and Bloomington Chapters of Psi Iota Xi and the sorority’s Bloomington consignment shop. Tea goers will get a chance to see what high fashion bargains can be found when shopping thrift shops. Clothing that is modeled will be offered for sale with proceeds to be shared by the Gallery Foundation and the sororities.

The food is being provided by Middleway Foodworks, a catering service operated by Bloomington Middleway House which provides shelter for victims of domestic violence. The service teaches professional skills to violence victims while providing a very high end food service for many of the areas most prominent events.

Tickets cost $25.00 per person with proceeds going to the non-profit Gallery Foundation. This year, Vision Ventures Video Productions of Indianapolis along with Andrews, Harrell, Mann, Carmin and Parker law firm of Bloomington are sponsoring two tables at the tea with many of the seats being given to the Brown County Chapter of Big Sisters so mentors can bring their Little Sisters for a real “girls” afternoon.

Over the years, the Annual Victorian Tea has become a regular “girls’ day out” event, with many attendees getting in the spirit by wearing big hats and other Victorian tea finery.

Tickets for the tea can be purchased at the Brown County Art Gallery in Nashville or by calling the gallery at 812-988-4609. Reservations are requested by Monday, April 7th.
