Special Events at the Brown County Art Gallery in Nashville, Indiana

The Annual Mabel B. Annis Student Art Exhibit, April 2012

A juried art competition for Junior and Senior High art students from seven surrounding counties. Features over 100 examples of two and three dimensional art created by students who are eligible to win prize money and exhibit and sell their work in a professional setting. Cash prizes are also awarded to the top two art teachers at a reception for students, teachers and their families.

The show is sponsored by the Mabel B.Annis Trust, Indiana Heritage Arts, Inc. and the Brown County Art Gallery Foundation. Exhibit hangs in the North Gallery, South Gallery, Klein Gallery rooms.

Foundation Patron Shows: Spring and Fall, 2011

May 14th - 22nd ~ October 29 - November 6

Members of the Brown County Art Gallery Foundation may enter two pieces in the Foundation Patron Shows for a $7.00 hanging fee which covers expenses and prize money. There are categories for amateurs who win ribbons and prize money and for professionals who win ribbons. All artists may offer their work for sale. This is a great opportunity for beginners.

Indiana Artists Past and Present

Sept 10th and 11th, 2011

An opportunity to consign artwork in the Foundation Consignment room to sell. Work can be early Indiana or that of a current artist. A 25% commission will go to benefit the Foundation. Early Indiana art is taken on consignment year round but must meet strict guidelines. This weekend event allows contemporary work as well as early work. Experts are available to help with evaluation and pricing.

Puppies and Pumpkins: Pet adoptions and art sale

Sept. 10th and 11th, 2011

A unique event sponsored by the Foundation, the Brown County Humane Society Shelter and the Art Association to help our four footed art patrons. Members of the Art Association create small fall scenes and animal paintings for a special exhibit in the South Gallery with proceeds to benefit the Humane Society Shelter. In addition, homeless pups and kitties come to the Gallery to meet and greet visitors and hopefully find their forever home.

One special painting is placed on silent auction ahead of time with all the money going to the shelter, sometimes winning over $2,000 in bids.
