Indiana Heritage Arts opened its annual Exhibition and Sale with a reception on Friday, June 9th at the Brown County Art Gallery in Nashville.

This year’s show was judged by western artist Tim Allen Lawson. He is known for his western landscapes, particularly of Wyoming where he was born and raised. He studied portrait and figure drawing at the American Academy of Art and the Palette and Chisel in Chicago and the Lyme Academy of Fine Arts in Old Lyme, Connecticut. He and his wife divide their time between homes in Sheridan, Wyoming and West Tisbury, Massachusetts.

Judge Lawson narrowed the entries to around 135 paintings and awarded the prizes. All artists with who are from Indiana or have a tie with Indiana are eligible to enter. Last year IHA gave away $80,000 in prize money and purchase awards. The show focuses on heritage style painters and generally includes oils, acrylics, watercolors, pastels, and etchings. All works are for sale.
