Tour Indiana through the eyes of 42 talented artists. Explore 60 oil, pastel and watercolor paintings showcasing historic preservation throughout the Hoosier state in this display. The Brown County Art Gallery is one of only 4 venues in Indiana where you can view this show in 2021.

The artwork by members of the Indiana Plein Air Painters Association (IPAPA) showcase views of the state from Lake County to Jefferson County, Steuben County to Posey County and many places in between. These artworks are for sale on a first-come, first-sale basis, but they will not be available to take home until the tour closes in October 2021.

Open daily 10 am - 5 pm, Sunday Noon - 5 pm. Free admission and free parking.

“Plein air painting–the practice of painting outdoors–has a long and storied history in Indiana, inspired by the work of T.C. Steele and the Hoosier Group, Frank Dudley and so many others. What we see in the Historic Indiana En Plein Air show is that the beauty of the Indiana landscape continues to excite and motivate artists around the state to do their best work.”

CATHY FERREE

“This exhibit combines the very best of Hoosier art and the accomplishments of statewide historic preservation. We’re honored to host the inaugural exhibition for this unique artistic partnership between IPAPA and the Indiana Department of Natural Resources.”
